When your ready to buy an electric golf caddy, there are many things you need to be aware of. There are several different kinds of caddies available today. I hope this golf caddy guide can help you make the right decision. This guide will point out the important things to consider when buying your cart.
To start set a budget, carts can run from 0 to ,000 with that said, you can certainly find the cart that’s perfect for you. First thing to consider are the motors, are they strong enough to pull your bag up hills and last 18 holes. I recommend two motors of at-least 180 amps each and make sure the motors are sealed. Next are the batteries, they should be maintenance free and able to receive multiple charging. The new gel batteries are certainly up to the task.
Moving on, the next critical step in choosing the right electric golf caddy is the frame. It should be sturdy enough to with stand the movement of your bag from side to side while moving down the fairway and through the rough. You’ll be surprised at the beating these carts get in 18 holes. Also consider how heavy the cart is, remember you have to load and unload the cart to and from the course. The frame should be around 25 lbs or less. Buy the time you get the battery installed and add your golf equipment you can be around 75 lbs, so you can see the importance of a sturdy frame.
Next on the list are the tires and wheels, today’s manufactures are adding solid rubber tires to these caddies and for good reason, the old style tires were slip on’s over a plastic wheel. Over a period of time dirt and grass would get between the tire and wheel and they would start slipping while climbing hills. The tires would also split or tear. So look for solid rubber wheels and tires.
Then there are accessories, you can add drink holders, GPS holders, umbrella holders you can even add a beverage bag that fits under the arm between the wheels. The list goes on, but today with the demand for these electric golf caddy’s, manufactures are adding many of the accessories to the standard price, to encourage buyers.
